The intrigue that comes from the suspicion of a hidden spy in their midst combined with the interpersonal drama/ banter between prisoners leads to a film that succeeds in being both a look at the humanity of POWs during WW2 as well as an interesting bit of storytelling in its own right. all the while balancing, stakes, humor and depth.
