Imagine making a movie so good that over 50 years later, nothing else even comes close. That’s 2001: A Space Odyssey. It’s sci-fi’s blueprint, yet most modern films still can’t touch it. Kubrick basically said, “Here’s the future of cinema,” and then walked away.

dissapointed. figured id enjoy more. i can understand that the influence of this film is likely on the genre, as well as from the very impressive (for the time but also hold up pretty well) special effects. i think the lack of a score at times made sense but also made me lose attention. it does call to attention morality questions relevant to the world we live in, and kudos for calling these out 60 years before they truly began to came to fruition, but overall im still unimpressed. this is interstellar of the 60s if it cared even less about the plot.

Hard to say anything which hasn’t been said about this. Visually it’s the greatest ever made, literally stunning. This word is the definition of a masterpiece and the only thing i didn’t enjoy was the ape scenes. One for the ages.

how was this movie made in 1968? how?the special effects are freaking fantastic! and the set design? WOW! i totally get why many people love this movie, i do. but damn it, this movie was too slow and long for me, i was really intrigued with all the visuals and everything, but it still made me very impatient with this movie.

I wouldn't believe this was a 60s movie, i mean look all the sci-fi property they used, it looks so real and visionary for a 60s movie, mindblown so much. I don't care about the slow and confusing plot, i'm mesmerize and stunned by the visual of this movie. Stanley Kubrick you're rocking this, ahead of it's time.
