I haven't had this much fun with a concept this ridiculous and over the top, since the show Desperate Housewives. Seriously. The movie shouldn't be as good as it is. But somehow it just all works. Spearheaded by the four leads, you are in for a wild (pun intended) ride from start to finish. Thankfully, I watched the trailer after I finished the movie. It gives away too much. But this should be an essential watch for any fan of thriller movies. Erotic or not.

Finally got round to watching this, which has been on my watch list for literally years, and it does disappoint. It’s a funny film, as all the main actors/actresses are very good, especially Denise Richards who steals the show. However, all the side characters are pretty garbage, and at times it’s funny how bad they are. The film itself is very entertaining, it has to have the most twists in any films I’ve ever seen, which does make it entertaining. Feel like they do go slightly overboard with it though. Plus the girls planning is so over the top, surly she could just find another way to make money? Oh well it’s a very entertaining watch.

75/100 Watched the Director’s Cut and I really don’t know what this cut added, well maybe I do but I don’t think much of it was warranted either way. You know what I respect it. By the end there were so many twists, my hate turned to admiration. This had all the makings of a cheesy, poorly acted erotic thriller but we got a lot more, there was actual motivation, there was dirty cops, we got betrayal after betrayal and I mean to the audience because this shit had me flabbergasted. Even the credits had twists - Bill Murray I see you. What started out with Kelly as the worst person in the film ended up with her being the most innocent… considering the circumstances. How the fuck did they manage to achieve that? Here I was gonna go on a monologue about how false rape accusations should warrant equal punishment to rape and they just threw me on a roller coaster of curveballs. I must admit I didn’t see a single one coming but that Kevin Bacon one especially had me shocked but maybe I should’ve predicted that when they didn’t show him kill Kelly, I mean there was no reason not to show that, same goes for Suzie’s “death” but we move. I really did not need to see Kevin Bacon’s bacon though! I must admit I had a fun time, it’s not as dark or eerie as maybe I’d hoped it was heading in the direction of but there was still plenty there to throw you about and take you on this thrilling journey. I do wanna end it though on Neve Campbell. Her gothic look is one of the most gorgeous women I’ve ever seen. My word I prayed for her to appear on screen everytime, she had me hypnotised just like she had everyone else in the movie.

Am I reading too much into the film in thinking it’s a satire? Maybe? But I do think the text is not supposed to be taken entirely seriously. It’s fun, over the top, ridiculous, everyone gets a heel turn, there’s a million twists. This movie isn’t actually serious right? And that’s why it’s fantastic.
