Someone explain to me how Vittorio Storaro, who shot 𝘈𝘱𝘰𝘤𝘢𝘭𝘺𝘱𝘴𝘦 𝘕𝘰𝘸 and 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘓𝘢𝘴𝘵 𝘌𝘮𝘱𝘦𝘳𝘰𝘳, managed to do the sloppiest job for this? Trite. Lazy. Underwhelming. And done in all poor taste. The man's lost it. Truly lost it. The references to living in New York and pulling references like Central Park and Shakespeare in the Park? Are you freaking kidding me? Allen used to be so in tune with culture, had such a strong pulse. It's no longer there. And good god, whose idea was it to cast Wallace Shawn?? You'd imagine he be good, but this performance was an embarrassment. Truly. The only stilt holding up the film was Louis Garrel god bless him.
