Trixie Mattel: Moving Parts is an intimate portrait into a beloved drag queen, exposing her insecurities as a comedian, as well as chronicling her rise in music. Having been a fan of Trixie for a while, I knew a lot of what the documentary had to offer, but the intimate moments, whether it be texts from Katya to her meeting with family at a show, really showed the vulnerability that people want from drag queens, especially when participating on RuPaul’s Drag Race. This isn’t for everyone, but really is a film for the fans, and shows the hardships that these stars face. I’d love to get to see Trixie Mattel live again, and hope to see more of her in the future.
