Dear Comrades!

An emotional journey of a woman whose dedication to her country contradicts the actions of the country, Dear Comrades! paints a harrowing picture of the Soviet Union in the 60’s. Shot in a gorgeous black and white, Dear Comrades! captures an authentic feel of the 60’s, both in politics and costuming. It’s under two hours, but the runtime feels much quicker, since the film never really dips into any lows - the film is paced very well to keep you engaged and interested the entire time. It’s such a strong film, it wouldn’t surprise me to see this being one of the nominated films for International Feature, this one really may have the bag secured. Overall, Dear Comrades! is an interesting look at the internal struggle withing the Soviet Union, and is one of 2020’s best looking films.
