someone should have told the people who wrote History of the World Part 2 to watch this because THIS is how you make GOOD biblical satire. very funny.

This wasn’t as funny as I was expecting it to be, but still a decent comedy. Holy Grail is still the best Monty Python by far, in fact; I think I’ll watch it next to remember how much better it is.

“Oh, it's blessed are the MEEK! I'm glad they're getting something, they have a hell of a time.” Wonderfully absurd and vehemently iconoclastic, Life of Brian (https://boxd.it/2a4q) manages to stand the test of time in a bold and, frankly, significant piece of comedic farce centered around religious fundamentalism and individuality. Banned in several countries due to is blasphemous nature, the Python troupe did what they do best and made a mockery of all of the unnecessary outrage by promoting the film with tag lines such as "So funny, it was banned in Norway!". Much like it’s iconic precursorMonty Python and the Holy Grail (https://boxd.it/29GI), Life of Brian’ssatirical edge excels at balancing its surreal elements with subtle and meaningful attention to detail. Comedy films are some of the harder types of movies to create due in part to the subjectivity of humor, Life of Brianmanages to skirt this issue by simply rapid-firing innuendos, sight gags, wordplay, and every other manner of funnythe troupe can muster — and it all lands surprisingly well. My favorite will always be The Holy Grail, but Life of Brianis an incredibly close second and is one of the most influential comedies ever made.
