The Jericho Mile

Perhaps the only giveaway that this was originally a TV movie is the fact that it lacks a lot of adult language and gore. The cast is fantastic, and the performances are great. The ability to actually shoot in Folsom really helps with the feeling of reality. Mann proves with his first film outing to be not only more than capable of pulling fantastic performances from his cast, but also a director with style. It’s not surprising this won an Emmy, and even less surprising that Mann was heavily courted after.
