Piranhas

Piranhas has been high on my anticipated films of the year, and finally I get to see it. I can confidently say that the lack of clear subtitles deterred me for a lot of the film, and I’d actually enjoy it more with accurate subtitles, which I’ll have to wait a bit for, since I will end up getting this physically. But, it’s filled with some fantastic performances, all done by newcomers. The lack of experience created a raw experience, similar to that of Monos, where the actors just feel as if they’re in their natural state. This is an exhilirating film, never truly letting up until the credits start rolling. It’s a shame that this film hasn’t had as much promotion, since it really is a strong contender for the year.
