Fireball: Visitors from Darker Worlds

It is absolutely astounding how director Werner Herzog manages to bring humanity back into his documentaries, even when looking to the heavens. Fireball: Visitors From Darker Worlds exaimines asteroids and meteorites, showing their significance to the world of science, but also how they’ve managed to chance the shape of life. Following suit from his previous nature documentary Into the Inferno, we see Herzog dig into the psyche of humanity, showing the relationship that we have with the natural world around us. Every shot is significant and absolutely beautiful - Herzog certainly knows how to film his subject matter while still keeping his films informative and engaging. I would have loved to have experienced this film in a dark theater, rather than my bedroom on Apple TV+, but I’m glad that this is easily available for audiences, since it really is a captivating film. As per usual, I’m always excited to see what Herzog will cover next, and I’ll certainly need to dive deeper into his filmography, since I haven’t been disappointed thus far.
