The Ring
my first time watching since the 2000s, i think. i was obsessed with this movie at age 11 or 12. i watched Ringu for the first time a few years ago and it wasnt effective to me. like the green/blue tint of The Ring helps set the creepy/moody atmosphere, the movie feels dreary. and Aiden is just a creepy little guy whereas Yoichi was not. The Ring still holds up but its obviously different watching a movie at 11 and then at 34 lol. also, Adam Brody is just randomly in everything lmao.
The Ring
Starting my Hooptober watches early, in hopes that I will be able to finish them all by Halloween. Absolutely loving the visual style here; the “Matrix” greenish color grading, and cinematography are excellent. Someone let Gore Verbinski out of director jail, we need him! Also poor Samara, what a truly tragic story.
The Ring
The Ring may have some decent qualities to it, but it’s a watered down version of a great story. I get that there was an interest in adapting Asian films for American audiences, but this film feels entirely unnecessary. It may be entertaining at times, but man, after having seen Ringu, it’s clear to see which film is far superior. The Ring used to be a great film in my eyes, but it didn’t live up to its original source material by any means.
The Ring
It seems like forever, but I finally got to watch this! The Ring is released during what I consider the hay day of horror. The early 2000's produced some of the greatest horror films, this included. What The Ring is able to do is create a captivating horror story without the use of blood. Instead, bizarre images and a creepy atmosphere drive this movie. I've seen the Americanized version of The Grudge, and now after this, I truly cannot wait to see the Japanese horror films!
The Ring
I think this movie could have been much more compelling and powerful, if the last 10 to 15 minutes didn't exist. Outside of that and the fact that it drags a bit, I didn't hate this movie. I like the color grading (no suprise given my love for 2000's nostalgia) and Martin Henderson is one of the best parts of this film. Also, the film opens and cuts right to the chase. Strong openers are important so kudos there! Honestly, this movie would be pretty solid if it had stuck the landing
The Ring
the laugh that left my body when noah asked aidan if he wished he was around more and he said no LMFAOO but anyways the way this used to scare the genuine shit out of me when i watched this like 15 years ago lol and im so gagged by adam brody being in this wtf
The Ring
