Petta

This is the time, the time for Petta to pounce!❞ ⊱ ─── . ݁₊ ⊹ . ݁ ᯽ ݁ . ⊹ ₊ ݁. ─── ⊰ Of Rajinikanth's newer work, Petta is definitely one of the better films with him at the helm. It's oozing with charm and tension, and has a pretty great cast who make up for some of the weaker areas of the film. The plot is kinda convoluted, and the pacing is very slow during the first half, which makes the almost three hour run-time seem even longer, but thankfully the second half is full of so much action it flies by very quickly. The cinematography is gorgeous, though, with some awesome-looking shots and colour grading, and the soundtrack is really good. Rajinikanth's performance as Petta is the epitome of charisma (although a lot of his roles have been a bit similar recently), and for the most part the supporting actors were good, but I was most impressed by Nawazuddin Siddiqui; he's one of my favourite Bollywood actors, and in my opinion was by far the best person in the cast. On the whole, Petta isn't necessarily the greatest film ever made, but it's highly entertaining, and I'll keep coming back to it in the future as well.
