Bad Education
The final installation in Steve McQueen’s fantastic series Small Axe is an important one, highlighting the discrimination within the education system. With a quick runtime of a little over 60 minutes, McQueen manages to a lot into a short time, but manages to pace it perfectly so nothing feels left out. It’s not the strongest of the bunch, but it’s still a strong film overall. It’s bittersweet to have watched this, as I’ve really enjoyed getting to watch this series, and it is sad to see it end. McQueen has crafted five impressive features that tell very important stories, stories that need to be told. I know it will be a while before we get another feature from Steve McQueen, but after his run with this series, I know we’re in for yet another fantastic feature.

Bad Education
While its not as high energy as Thoroughbreds, Bad Education is splendidly crafted by Cory Finley and it features an all-time performance by Hugh Jackman and a wonderful supporting act in Allison Janney.
