❝It is impossible not to love someone who makes toast for you.❞ •❅──────✧❅✦❅✧──────❅• Toast was a nice and earnest film. I really enjoyed the first half of the film; there were some very touching scenes and a lot of humour, but after Nigel grew up the pacing became a bit weird and it just wasn't as interesting. I loved the cinematography and warm colour grading though, as it gave the film a wistful and dreamy feel, and the soundtrack was great. Oscar Kennedy did an excellent job as young Nigel, but I didn't feel like Freddie Highmore was as good, which was unfortunate. I really disliked Joan, played by Helena Bonham Carter, as well as Nigel's dad (Ken Stott). All in all, Toast was a decent watch and I think it'd be a good film to watch with family.
