Diary entries forThe Empty Man
The Empty Man
Huh...? Why the whispering sounds like asmr bubble? Glupp glupp glupp. Anyway this movie is good at first, the visually, the story, the tense and mystery and then come to second and final act where there is too much empty or silent scene that will make you bored and sleepy, this movie doesn't need to be this long with that silent scene, it pmo that i fell asleep many times and had to rewind the scene.

The Empty Man
this movie would be so much better if it were just a ghost story about the so called empty man. i cant say i hated it but it was kind of convoluted. i think the cult, bridge of consciousness (or whatever) and the big plot twist should have been its own movie outside of the ghost story.
The Empty Man
i liked this better on second watch but im still confused
The Empty Man
The Empty Man
The Empty Man is such a treat. When I first saw the poster for the film, I thought it was going to be a film along the lines of The Bye Bye Man, and after reading the synopsis gave it no thought. Having seen a few people on Twitter discuss it, I thought I should see what people were talking about. And man, I fell in love with this film. The opening for the film is trance-like, which permeates within the rest of the film. It takes its time to establish the characters and plot, which paid off in the end by creating a story with rich characters and a truly compelling lore. I’ve seen a lot of complaints about the runtime, but honestly, I had no problem whatsoever with the runtime. It took time to get the story rolling, but it was necessary to set the footing for the rest of the wild film. Having not read the comics that the film was based on, I wasn’t sure what was in store. Needless to say, I was in for a wild, wild ride, which I had so much fun on. What I enjoyed most about the film was how genuinely frightening it was. There wasn’t a need for jump scares, and they managed to throw in a few, but they managed to create an atmosphere that was so unsettling that it could leave anyone on edge. The cold cinematography helps to create a whole vibe that really suited the story well. Overall, I’m honestly really impressed with The Empty Man. Seeing that it was from 20th Century was a surprise as well, seeing a larger corporation take a risk and put out a film like this. It’s a shame that this isn’t getting the reception that it deserves, since it really is a great film. 20th Century didn’t do the film any service though, since there was absolutely no promotion for it. Maybe if audiences had the chance to get a good idea of what the film was before it was released reception would be warmer. Regardless, I really enjoyed the film and will have to hunt the comics down, since it is such an interesting story.
