You Should Have Left

As much as the second half tries to salvage things, it took far too long to get there, and the ending kinda goes predictable A good cast can't make a bad script good by itself

You Should Have Left

A thriller with supernatural elements that don’t really go anywhere. I was expecting a haunted house film, which is kind of what we got here, but really got lost along the way. Visually, it’s a great looking film, but the plot needed a lot of working on. It was interesting in the beginning, seeing the relationship between the leads, especially once they get to the house. But, as the film goes along, it’s like they were attempting to create this lore with the house, but ended up with a muddled mess. You Should Have Left is a decent film, but one that I wouldn’t care to watch agian for a while.

You Should Have Left

This movie has some cool Twilight Zone esque horror moments and a cool premise but totally doesn't go anywhere with it. Themes of the Devil, sins of the father, time travel through dreams - all of which sound cool but aren't played with enough in this movie. It was honestly pretty lackluster and sometimes boring. Hell, I'd say you could turn this into a short film (or an even shorter film considering this was only an hour and a half). Cut out the boring relationship drama with Amanda Seyfried's character The only positives of the film were Kevin Bacon's pretty decent acting, some very well shot cinematagraphy and the fact that I watched this with my family (yes, that is a positive that I'm listing cause that was the most fun part of the whole experience)

You Should Have Left

This is why I am so serious about what movie others pick. This film tries to tell a story while also not telling one. It is so vague and confusing for no reason. It explains literally nothing on how it even works. It has a few dialogue lines to try and explain it but to the point of not explaining it. The whole movie trys building up to something just for thr buildup to mesn nothing. The cast was good, Avery Essex is a good kid actor. Kevin Bacon tries his best to make this be more than it was. Their characters I couldn't really care for either. This did have some ok horror elements. It was shot well in that sense. There is like barely any horror in this though. It feels more like a drama than horror. The dynamics I couldn't really care for either. But I didn't really care for or like this that much. The dialogue also is very random and dumb sometimes. It's just so vague and random to me. I don't know if this is also supposed to be a comedy but some of these scenes are so dumb it has to be. I honestly couldn't really connect or care that much with this. I guess the title is true.
