Heartbeats
Those slo-mo scenes with superb music are art. The performances are mostly good, and I need more Xavier Dolan in my life. I don't, however, understand the quick zoom ins and zoom outs in the faux-interviews, they felt out of place/unnecessary. The secondhand embarrassment & discomfort was real in the third act; some scenes were painful to watch. But Francis randomly screaming to stop a jerk's attempt of starting a conversation was immensely satisfying, soothing and uplifting. Even though my mind wants make a case for that person's innocence in the matter by keeping in mind the subjectiveness of the narrative (viewing it only from the admirers' eyes); the subsequent (most probable) inaccurate perception of that character - magnified signals/ enhanced feelings.
