there was a lot going on and a decent amount to follow along with. most of the stories were mid, most enjoyable was the kid. was semi enjoyable to watch and i honestly think i think too much, to enjoy a movie like this lol

As much as some of this is excellent, it’s hard to escape the obvious mashing together of different movies in this. The story’s are not connected at all until the silly school nativity which everyone coincidentally goes to together. Still, it has its fun moments and it’s very Christmassy. I did enjoy this film but wish they’d focused on fewer story lines and delved deeper into them, especially the Alan Rickman and Emma Thompson story line which is kind of abandoned towards the end of movie.

Watching it on January 1, 2026, it just reminds me that love in December feels totally different.

this was kinda cute, but honestly some of the plots were unnecessary and shouldn't be in the movie. would've made a better 1 and half hour christmas romance movie

Unpopular Opinion (that frankly should be a popular opinion): LOVE ACTUALLY sucks its a bad romcom its a bad Christmas movie its bad all around with few redeeming qualities. RANT: the Andrew Lincoln & Keira Knightly scene was cringe af and the worst part of the movie. thats your best friend's wife, keep your feelings to yourself ad the way he filmed her at her wedding... and Colin Firth being in love with a woman he can't communicate with because they dont speak the same language, so he learns passible Portuguese and then proposes to her even though they never dated and barely know each other. thats not romantic thats stupid as hell. those are the top 2 "love" stories in this film that piss me off the most. also, Emma Thompson mocking Liam Neeson for grieving his wife? fuck you bitch and i had no damn sympathy for her because her husband cheated, nah. and Laura Linney's story being that she won't find love because her disabled brother is a burden. Hugh Grant fires his secretary because he's attracted to her. also, all these older men after much younger women, ew. every character was annoying except for Martin Freeman, Joanna page, Liam Neeson and the kids. there is so much more to complain about. when i first watched this moie several years ago i couldn't believe that *this* movie was so beloved. I HATE THIS MOVIE SO MUCH. I'd rather rewatch Valentine's Day or New Years Eve. (they're not great either but better than this.) the movie pisses me off so much that i like watching youtube videos about why it's bad like Pitch Meeting and Honest Trailers.
