Some of the best dialogues written 😭 and it’s not just the dialogues the way they’re delivered makes them even more hilarious. “Welcome to New York. Go and fuck a dick.” “Oh yeah baby, come on now… say my name. Yeah.. I’m done. How was I?” “Who have you been with?” “Whoa, what are you trying to do? Dig your way to China?!” “I’m good at this!” “Says who?” “Every girl I’ve been with!” “Well, they’re either lying or their vaginas are made out of burlaps, so relax, you’re not a lizard.” “Say my name.” “Dylan Francis Harper Jr.” “Not my full name.” “Sorry, I had to fill out a lot of your paperwork.” Emma Stone had less than 2 minutes of screen time, but she dropped these crazy lines “Here’s an idea next time instead of being late just shit on my face because it’s kind of the same idea as missing Your Body Is a Wonderland.” “Maybe you should care a little less about work and a little bit more about the girl you’re dating because last time I checked, work doesn’t reassure you that liking a finger up your ass doesn’t make you gay.” JOHN. “You know why they don’t ever make a movie about what happens after the big kiss?” “They do. It’s called porn.” LMFAOO. The film is filled with great dialogues. I just checked and how come this didn’t win Best Original Screenplay in 2011? Criminal. This film really wins in the comedy–romance–drama genre. The chemistry between Justin Timberlake and Mila Kunis carries the whole movie. Their banter feels natural and actually funny instead of forced. Also, I’m in awe of Mila Kunis eyes btw. Those are beautiful. I love how this movie uses sex as humor and constantly makes jokes around it. They even made a joke about how hard it is to pee while having a hard on lol. Some emotional moments sneak up on you too especially toward the climax, which was really cute. Overall, not groundbreaking or anything, but it’s charming, entertaining, and surprisingly rewatchable. Sometimes you just need a rom-com that understands the genre and makes you happy, giggle, and a little emotional at the same time and this is it.
