Really loved the ending but for the majority of this film people repeat a question 3 to 6 times and I found it tedious after a while. There is one scene where the boy asks his mother to take the homework to his friends house for what feels like 20 times and the mother never really responds. If somebody asked me the same question 20 times in a row I’d lose my mind, but this happens multiple times during this. It was still a good watch though and the ending really brought everything together.

«خانهٔ دوست کجاست؟» در فلق بود که پرسید سوار. آسمان مکثی کرد. رهگذر شاخهٔ نوری که به لب داشت به تاریکی شن ها بخشید و به انگشت نشان داد سپیداری و گفت: «نرسیده به درخت کوچه باغی است که از خواب خدا سبز تر است و در آن عشق به اندازهٔ پرهای صداقت آبی است. می روی تا ته آن کوچه که از پشت بلوغ، سر بدر می آرد، پس به سمت گل تنهایی می پیچی، دو قدم مانده به گل، پای فوارهٔ جاوید اساطیر زمین می مانی و تو را ترسی شفاف فرا می گیرد. در صمیمیت سیال فضا، خش خشی می شنوی: کودکی می بینی رفته از کاج بلندی بالا، جوجه بردارد از لانهٔ نور و از او می پرسی خانهٔ دوست کجاست؟»

did kind of suck that the kid kept getting dismissed by the adults around him when he was just trying to ask for help…like kids aren’t listened to enough! but it was sweet how he was so determined to help his friend. like maybe that kind of compassion and kindness can go a long way.

Niños siendo niños, viviendo en un mundo completamente distinto al de los adultos que los rodean. Hasta parecieran tener su propio lenguaje: Ahmed pregunta, y pregunta, y pregunta. Y nadie sabe (o quiere) responderle, más que su otro compañero de clase. La presión que los niños sienten ante la disciplina es una parte de la infancia que siento que no se explora mucho. La tarea de Ahmed nos podría parecer cualquier cosa pero para él es el fin del mundo. Se nota en su cara de angustia, desesperación. Y a pesar de estar perdido todo el día, no se deja llevar por la frustración. Se mantiene noble toda la película.
