Dredd
Dredd is Robocop meets High-Rise. You would think this combination would work, but it sadly doesn't with this film. Dreddis pretty much all style and no substance. While it did have interesting cinematography, it did get quite dizzying at times, especially with the sloe motion scenes. Maybe after some time I will eventually like Dredd, but it was okay on my first viewing.

87/100 I have witnessed peak today. Karl Urban might just be the baddest man alive. Lena Headey is so good in everything she does. Everything about this film is so fun and exciting. It’s timed perfectly, it’s shot beautifully - especially the slow-mos… makes me wanna have drugs. The music is so energising and the action sequences are fantastic. The set design is so grounded and real. I need more of these futuristic films in shit locations.

"I AM THE LAW" An absolutely amazing action film Literally has a lot of what my dream action film would be just non stop action. I don't know that much about Judge Dredd but this was still pretty good. The post apocalyptic vibe was pretty cool. Karl urban is great and he's basically just using his mouth to act lol. I have said before that John wick had some of my favorite action sequences but this film has some great ones that I would put up there too. Especially with all the slow mo stuff that looked sick.

My thoughts: - Can we get another Dredd reboot please? This would absolutely kill as a newer movie or tv show, like expand on the world and make it 10x bloodier. - I would kill to see a Dredd/Robocop team-up too.

Between the gritty and sparkling action of Dredd, no matter how brutal and realistic the shoot 'em up fashion is, the majority of disappointment lie within Judge Dredd. He's an emotionless tool with a gun.

a fucking awesome piece of cyberpunk. pulpy, and raw just like the comic. give me 100 more. and speaking of raw, the top energy that karl urban gives off is too much—even for me‼️

I still believeDredd is by far one of the best comic book action films to come out in the past twenty years - exactly why it has never seen a sequel is, quite frankly, ridiculous.Karl Urbanplays the big, quietly intimidating, no-nonsense protagonist of Dredd. He’s judge, jury, and executioner. At his side is Olivia Thirlby’s Anderson, a rookie cop on assessment. Shot by the wonderfully talented Anthony Dodd Mantle, Dreddhas this very starkly vivid, yet bleak look to it. Taking place entirely in a two hundred floor mega structure, the film had a hurdle to get over in making the space as interesting to look at as possible - they fucking nailed it. If you’ve ever played Cyberpunk 2077, this essentially feels like the giant apartment complex V lives in. It has got so many busy visuals (graffiti on walls, medical stores, phone booths, neon), but it makes the space feel so very lived it and grimey. The music is also killer. Absolutely top notch shit here - I’ve listened to this banger of a soundtrack ever since the film came out. Paul Leonard-Morgan has outdone himself here, and it’s not so surprising to see he has another music credit in Cyberpunk 2077. Fuck man. This movie still rocks and holds up so damn well - I hope I get to see a sequel in my life time.
