Easily one of the best horror films of the 2010’s. James Wan and Leigh Whannell created some magic with this film. Might have to watch the rest of the series again, since it’s been ages since I’ve seen most of them.

I love Insidious very very much. It is scary enough without being overly scary. It was done very well, so you can expect a high quality film. This is a movie that is for nights where you want something scary but won't scare you too much.

Managing to create a new concept in the haunted house genre is hard, but James Wan does it with ease, allowing us to get a genuinely frightening experience, with great acting and chilling atmosphere. This film certainly stands out as one of the films that started to show the beginning of a new era of horror, even if it's not the "elevated horror" that we are seeing now. Insidious is a truly frightening film, and is a hidden gem, which needs to be revisited by others, as it is a fantastic film.

Insidious creates a truly chilling atmosphere with a plot that is surprisingly fresh! Insidious is an interesting horror film. It follows the standard horror recipe, but dramatically changes it up and makes it unique. James Wan did a wonderful job bringing a fresh idea to screen. He does such stunning horror films and Insidious fits right in with them. I understand why people don't like the last third of the film, since it abandons the recipe it had been following and changes. This move is extremely gutsy, and I believe that it works. It makes the film feel fresh instead of boring and unscary. Instead, it makes the film interesting and adds something new to what can be in our nightmares. Insidious is a fresh horror film that was a surprise. James Wan did an amazing job directing this, both creatively and through his directing style. Insidious is bound to become a modern classic.

Even after 11 years, Insidious still remains to be one of the most frightening films I’ve ever seen. Joseph Bishara’s score, accompanied with James Wan’s muted color palette, create a dynamic that makes this film stand out among the other large studio horror endeavours. The twists are just as shocking as they were the first time I watched it, the scares are just as terrifying, it’s a film that has a timelessness to it that certainly will solidify its place among the horror greats. Insidious really is such an amazing film, I’m so glad that I was able to get my roommate to finally watch it, since it really is a staple within the horror genre.
