Bathed in the unknown, David Lynch's short Boat showcases his new style, as well as how he manages to create an unsettling atmosphere in a short with very little actual imagery. Overexposed at times, underexposed at night, Boat is one of Lynch's most visually odd shorts, creating a film that truly unsettles, especially with the hypnotic narration. Lynch's modern shorts have been wildcards and Boat seems to be the best of the bunch thus far. It's been a while since Lynch did a short like this, but if he decides to do another one, I'd hope that it'd be in the same vein as this amazing short.
