Charade

A fun collision of the Alfred Hitchcock mystery films and screwball comedies of the 50s and 60s. I'm not sure why, but this will officially be the first film that I have seen starring Audrey Hepburn. And man, she kills it in this role. Cary Grant is fantastic as always, and his comedic timing is impeccable. The film first came to my attention when I bought a DVD of the remake, The Truth About Charlie, many years ago, and this was included as a "bonus movie" to go along with it. It was funny to find out that Universal screwed up the copyright of the movie, and it fell into the public domain immediately upon release. I guess that was their way to try to make money off Charade, since so many other copies were out there.

Charade

i love everything about this! this is something i would repeatedly watch over and over again like i had so much fun! i love all the twists and turns and how when i thought we’re all caught up with everything it turns out we still don’t then something new is revealed.  audrey hepburn is so charming, always is since i first saw roman holiday, literally totally get now why everyone’s head over heels for her shes literally people’s princess. audrey and cary have a great chemistry i love their constant back & forth, its so endearing & funny. and literally regina is just too good for the world, the whole time she’s just wide eyed & confused & trying to put things together, i love her she’s soooo cute!

Charade

This film is absolutely amazing. Everything about it is interesting, fun and clever, you literally can’t take your eyes off the screen. The constant plot twists, great acting and amazing scenes make this one of the greatest thrillers ever made.

Charade

Welds together screwball, intrigue, and romance into one pleasant construction. Still a hoot, even with the horrid French child.

Charade

Charade is exciting, unbelievable, and beautiful. You're immediately thrown into the action and have to get your bearings. Throughout the film, I never knew who the good guys were and who the bad guys were. The ending is surprising and completely unpredictable. The city of Paris is shown in one of its most beautiful forms. Overall, a really cool film that will stay with you for a long time.

Charade

What is known as the Hitchcock film he never directed, Charade is a fantastic thriller, with so many twists and turns that you don't have a clue what may happen next. The key to a great mystery is to keep the audience guessing. And that's exactly what Charade is able to do. It keeps you guessing what's going to happen next, throwing so many curveballs that it's hard to think about what may happen. Hepburn and Grant have fantastic chemistry throughout. The directing is great, as it does genuinely feel like it is a Hitchcock film. The soundtrack to the film was spectacular as well. With all of these elements working together, Charade becomes one fine film. It was fantastic getting to show this to my grandmother, as she had no idea what was going to happen next. Charade may be over 50 years old, but it's twists and turns still are fantastic today.
