I don't think you're gonna be able to get a much bloodier Mortal Kombat film than this. Shame about the acting at times and the plot basically being "give us money for the sequel" from the post-intro scene on, which makes me think we're also not going to get a great Mortal Kombat film ever either edit: the more I think the worse it gets lol, but at least I saw it free on HBO Max

"You hoped that I would burn in the flames of hell... but instead, I learned to control them." Now this is what I was expecting from a live action mortal kombat movie. Absolutely brutal and sick. I think I still prefer the animated ones however this did so much right. I don't mind the new main character he's pretty enjoyable tbh. I can see how people don't like Cole its pretty understandable. I would've definitely preferred Johnny Cage or literally any existing mk characters for that matter but it's fine. The rest of the cast is great in their roles and I like all the character designs. Kabal especially looks really sick. The plot was a bit underwhelming especially since there's no actual tournament taking place. It's still pretty enjoyable though. The blood/gore in this were way crazier than my expectations especially that Kung Lao scene. The action scenes are great and I enjoyed all of them. That Sonya and Kano one was pretty sick ngl. The arcana stuff was ok I guess I don't really know how I feel on that part. I have no clue why this has so low reviews. I really enjoyed this despite the retcon of Hanzo having a bloodline.
