A Tale of Two Sisters
Psychological horror movies can be difficult to get right for me. It really depends on what route they go, and how the payoff is. Fortunately, this one does it very well. The mystery is well done, the cast is good, and it never tries to take the audience for granted. Apparently inspired by Korean folklore, it is very well written and will linger with you after the credits roll. I would like to watch it again one day to see how it all plays out after knowing what I already learned in the film. That, to me, is a sign of a special movie.

A Tale of Two Sisters
For me this works just as well now as it did for its original audience in the early-2000s. Maybe it's because great films feel timeless, maybe it's because the American remake (as American remakes usually go) lacked the impact and heart of the original. Regardless, the last half hour remains stunning
A Tale of Two Sisters
I ended up watching this in pieces over the course of a few days—not ideal for maintaining the proper ambience—but it still had its way of ensnaring me each time I returned. There's a mystery to the sequence of events and identities which is intentionally opaque on a first viewing, but overarching themes of grief, stagnation, guilt, and possibly even penance seep through the floorboards all the same. I'll definitely log a re-watch at some point to snag the particulars, but the general thrust of the story and engrossing portrayals by all involved will linger for a good while.
A Tale of Two Sisters
A schizophrenia movie that confusing me, I still don't understand it but I like the vibe of the movie, it's very enjoyable to watch even though it's slow burn but that's what makes me curious and gives me goosebumps, I can already guess the plot but it turns out to be very confusing.
A Tale of Two Sisters
DSM-5 didn't prepare me for this WTF
A Tale of Two Sisters
this was so tense and so good but sadly i had already seen the usa remake so it didn't come as a surprise for me (even though the twist was still pretty obvious). i do love the colors in this film, and yum jung-ah looks gorgeous in every scene, but the movie itself felt rather lackluster. good, but nothing crazy
A Tale of Two Sisters
nothing makes sense until the end and then everything makes sense
