The "Attack The Block" director makes an incredibly charming, consistently entertaining kids' fantasy adventure with the amazing Rebecca Ferguson (who's having a perfect year imo between this and Doctor Sleep) as the villain? Yeah, I was always gonna love this
The Kid Who Would Be King
I walked into this movie expecting nothing and i was pleasently surprised, sure, its a kids movie but it doesnt treat its audience as absolute morons (ehemDumbo), its charming, funny and smartly written, the kid performances are pretty good but they waste Rebecca Ferguson and Patrick Stewart in minor roles. Still, the movie is entertaining and its worth a watch.
