« 𝘑𝘦 𝘴𝘶𝘪𝘴 𝘷𝘦𝘯𝘶 𝘪𝘤𝘪 𝘤𝘶𝘭𝘵𝘪𝘷𝘦𝘳 𝘭’𝘢𝘶𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘪𝘲𝘶𝘦. » A film I think I would’ve better appreciated in my French 101 course, but it’s seeped in the Provence it’s hard not to like. Running rabbits. Lush tomatoes. Streams of secret water. The heat. The fatigue. Pastis! Performances run over the top with notions for César-baits, and play out so blandly in that Hollywood kind of way. What doesn’t make it Hollywood is that it lets its villains win. *watched this for Molly after coming from le Sud and wanting to 𝘭𝘪𝘷𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘰𝘧𝘧 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘧𝘢𝘵𝘵𝘢 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘭𝘢𝘯 <3
