every teenager is trying their best, it just sucks that being a teenager makes it feel like no one gets you nor no one takes you seriously. this film captures that. it's so isolating to be a teenager. you could argue that lisa was selfish and was only doing everything for herself which isn't exactly false. however, you see at the last act of the film where her and her mother sit next to each other, they're not talking they're not conversing. they just sat listening to an opera and yet that was their biggest and most impactful conversation they ever had. Anna Paquin's amazing performance carried this whole film beautifully but as well as the chemistry between her and J. Smith-Cameron. this has been sitting on my watchlist for so long, i am glad i picked it up today.
Margaret
Why she's always crying every time she got angry? Idk but that's kinda annoying. My least favorite of Kenneth Lonergan.
