Skyscraper
Dwayne in films where there's other personalities than his, he's not asked to try to singlehandedly carry everything on his own, and there's talented folk that help things stand out in the acting department, not just action: film = good (see: Moana, main Fast and Furious films) Dwayne in films where this isn't the case and it's all him: film = trash (see: Doom, Tooth Fairy, Skyscraper) This isn't coincidence
Skyscraper
What a surprise Skyscraperwas. Going in, I had read several reviews saying that this is a more dull, lifeless version of Die Hard, which really didn’t mean much to me, as I haven’t seen any of the Die Hardfilms. Not being able to compare these films actually nah have benefited me, since I really had nothing to compare this to. It delves into the typical blockbuster-esque tropes, playing it safe a majority of the time, but this was a damn fun film. It’s anxiety-inducing, it’s entertaining, it’s exactly what you look for in a big summer release. Skyscraper isn’t anything too remarkable as a whole, but ends up being one of the most enjoyable films I’ve seen this summer. Side note: I’d kill to do a double feature of those and High-Rise, which I may end up watching later this evening once I am off of work.

❝If you can't fix it with duct tape... you ain't using enough duct tape.❞ ⊱ ──── . ݁₊ ⊹ . ݁ ⟡ ݁ . ⊹ ₊ ݁. ──── ⊰ Skyscraper is just like every other film starring The Rock, except that instead of an outdoor jungle it's set in an indoor one. It's a lot of very generic dialogue combined with a very formulaic plot, and after a while it all becomes mind-numbingly dull. I will say, some of the action sequences are pretty well-choreographed, and the structure and interior design of the Pearl before it sets on fire are stunning, but they're mostly overshadowed by the extremely mediocre performances from the cast and boring story. I don't think I'm the target audience for this film, and I'm not sure I'd rewatch it unless I want to switch my brain off completely.
Skyscraper
so boring without a reaon.
Skyscraper
Its entertaining, yeah, thats about it, what i did appreciate about this movie is that Dwayne isn’t invincible like in the Fast and Furious movies and that he has to get creative in every situation, also it was nice seeing Neve Campbell kick ass and just be absolutely gorgeous.
Skyscraper
one of the movies of all time
