Aliens but imagine in the sea! Anti Climatic ending and corny humour mixed into it
Underwater

Give Kristen Stewart the respect she deserves

Beat for beat there's so much crossover between movie and video game-- which is informing which, who can even say at this point. I like the Alien environs even if the pacing and POV-frenzy stomp all over it. Probably would've enjoyed this a helluva lot more as an actual video game. And who knows what's goin' on with that voice over arc. That said, a stand-alone bottom-of-the-ocean creature feature can almost be celebrated just for not being stretched or tethered to some ungainly franchise. The bar is on the (ocean) floor, I know. Almost shut the whole thing off with T.J. Fuckwad's introduction (how dare he breath Stewart's air) but overall I'm glad I didn't thanks to the production design, those critters, and all that horrific p r e s s u r e.
Underwater
Underwater is a fun monster flick that manages to have complete characters and be engaging, even if the monsters aren’t terribly scary.

72/100 Edit #1:Emily aka Jessica Henwick why the fuck are you wearing socks in your suit? Why are you wearing socks in the water? This gave me PTSD of the time I wore my trainers on the stage while playing Mowgli in the Jungle Book play at school, fucking braindead decision making. I mean I can’t even lie, I’m a sucker for these films man. Those jumpscares got me good, especially that first one shit knocked me out! It’s a cool adventurous film but I’ll be real, it feels like something out of a video game, basically an entire act with the cutscenes and playable scenes. Most people complain about the script and that’s valid, there’s really nothing of value being said, other than Kristen Stewart being pretty and thereby getting you to root for her, there’s not much to go on here. However I found everyone to be likeable and of course the black dude died first… I see you. That fish joke was good too, TJ Miller sometimes you are good, when he doesn’t overdo it and let’s be honest, there wasn’t much to overdo here anyway; he was good. Also you would think for a film relying on Cthulhu as its main attraction, they would show it in its entirety? That’s where my biggest qualm is, I knew this character was in this film which is why I decided to watch it but I was quite disappointed at his obscure appearance, the smaller creatures were done well but with many wider shots of your stations, you couldn’t give us a wide shot of Cthulhu towering over Kristen Stewart? The problem with these underwater films is always gonna be lighting and I thought they did as well as they could considering they’re at the deepest point on Earth and also, the potential here was immense, you could alternate between the surface and underwater or maybe just add more elements to this film, my idea is probably stupid for continuity and immersion but yeah lots of wasted potential. Regardless, I enjoyed it, it looked good for most part. The soundtrack was decent too.
Underwater
kristen stewart absolutely killed it and carried the whole movie. i was way more terrified about the idea of their helmets breaking than the aliens and giant creature though
Underwater
it felt underwhelming
