Diary entries forThe Alphabet
The Alphabet
Well that was pretty unnerving
The Alphabet
Unnerving as ever, The Alphabet mixes Lynch's hypnotic visuals with terrifying animation. The mix of these creates a short that truly is terrifying. As simple as the alphabet is, Lynch manages to make the short seem sinister and quite frightening. It's his early work (his better work when it comes to shorts), which seems much more frightening than his modern shorts. The Alphabet stands as his strongest short that I have seen so far.
The Alphabet
What a way to celebrate the release of The Criterion Channel!
The Alphabet
This film made a whole lot of sense after watching the introduction to it, thanks to it being on my Criterion version of Eraserhead. This is his representation of his wife's family member's nightmare, where she was continually saying the alphabet. Lynch wanted to show what he thought the nightmare might have been like. Knowing this, The Alphabet makes a lot more sense.
The Alphabet
From everything I have heard about Lynch's distinct style, this seems to fit what I have heard. An extremely odd and disturbing film, only with the alphabet. I'm really interested in seeing what else Lynch has to offer, since this is something that I was expecting for him to produce.

The Alphabet
Pocas veces se le atribuye el terro puro a lynch pero aqui puede ser la carta de presentación al terror mas directo de el.
The Alphabet
