Flipped

I’m totally into how this movie plays out. The story moves back and forth smoothly, told from two different angles, giving it that cool romantic vibe 🪺

If I watched this as a kid I’m sure it’d be a really nice comforting movie but as it stands now I kinda feel indifferent about it. The general story structure is nice but almost every character feels one dimensional and falls flat for me. Maybe on rewatch it’ll hit harder but for now it’s a fine coming of age movie that didn’t really do anything special for me

Flipped

There's 3 stages of falling in love: 1. First meet 2. Denialism 3. Acceptance And they're having these 3 stage that means they're really falling in love in the first meet. How cute is it. RIP Rob Reiner.

Flipped

“Flipped”, directed by Rob Reiner, is a quaint little film based on a book I’ve never read that I enjoyed a good bit! I was inspired to watch this after my Tiktok “For You Page” had been dominated by fan-made “Shrucy” (Lucy x Schroeder from Peanuts) comics, with commenters comparing this film’s couple to that pair. So I watched it and had an alright time with it! It’s a mostly by the numbers harmless rom-com. It has its incredibly pause-worthy cringe moments and the male lead is dumb as bricks, but again, a mostly harmless flick.

Flipped

❝Some of us get dipped in flat, some in satin, some in gloss, but every once in a while you find someone who's iridescent, and once you do, nothing will ever compare.❞ ∘₊──── • ♧ • ✧ • ♧ • ────₊∘ Flipped is so nostalgic despite being set in the 60s (while I'm an '03); it's everything I never got to experience when I was thirteen. I love seeing stories from multiple perspectives, something I grew to enjoy after obsessively watching Hoodwinked as a child. I will say though that even by the end of the film, Juli is a much better person than Bryce. He still needed to grow more as a person, and I'm glad that it didn't end with them completely in love. I do wish we got to see more of Juli's brothers, because they seemed to be awesome and great singers. I maintain that Steven Loski can go die in a hole; his failures in life don't excuse the awful way he treats his family and others. But, all said, Flipped is absolutely lovely and I will be rewatching constantly (and crying my eyes out every time).

My Final Thursday of Middle School. Entering Eighth Grade: Flipped ———————————————————————————— This was really good. Awesome story and the entire cast was incredible. The point of view switching between Juli and Bryce was a really great addition. Sort of reminded me of Wonder (even though this came out before Wonder). Ugh Bryce’s dad really annoyed me. Such a jerk. 8.5/10

No había visto nunca una película de Rob Reiner y mis dos primeras del año fueron de él, con ambas tuve experiencias similares, están lindas, tienen momentos divertidos, son entretenidas pero honestamente no me encantaron.
