A film which feels like a series of events rather than a true film, LDV is one of the most iconic films ever made. Sylvia is the best character, stealing every scene she’s in. The scene with the cat is my favourite in the entire movie. The film itself has lots of imagery and juxtapositions, which you can read in-depth on this app, but it’s too long for me to explain them all in this review. As great as the film is I didn’t seriously connect with it, and I wouldn’t call it one of my favourites, I did enjoy watching it though and the last thing I’ll say about the film is f u c k Marcello.

La Dolce Vita

March Around Cinema '24 (10/30): Italy 🇮🇹. Everyone has their own definition of what felini is. For many he is the obsessive perfectionist of 8 1/2, others he is the humanist of La Strada, for a few he is the lysergic poet of Julliet of the Spirits, well, you get the idea with the rest of his most famous works. La dolce Vita is possibly the magnum opus of his career, being the contemplative Felini. A work about decadence, both in its characters and in a social class, not to mention a decadent existentialism. United merely by anecdotes and stories that are not related, but that perfectly transmits the poetic aura about said decadence, both in beauty and integrity, until reaching the point where one can begin again, a question that invites reflection. Masterfully performed by Mastroiani, and a magnum opus by Felini that among his works to be preserved, this would be the most significant of all.

La Dolce Vita

C'est vraiment beau, on passe par tellement d'émotions différentes à travers chaque partie. Et puis cette ambiance singulière et cette sensualité chez les femmes. C'est un merveilleux voyage
