Pro Tip: Paint your own path to success, in work, love and life, before it's too fuckin' late. Stylish, violent, and super fucking fun, 2017's Mayhem is a weird joy to watch. One of the best parts of Guns Akimbo was Samara Weaving's insane performance, and it definitely appears here too. Outside of that, the comedy of the film may be the worst part; it has a few laughs, but none if them are quite as funny as most action comedies.

My mother used to say that no one raindrop ever thought it caused the flood. I now know what she meant by that. A shot of adrenaline mixed with a workaholic theme that manages to work with the batshit crazy story. Steven Yeun and Samara Weaving are both absolutely entertaining on their own, and definitely are together. The action is just what a movie called Mayhem should be, it's chaotic and an absolute blood bath. It couldn't be nearly as good if it didn't go all the way with just about everything, and in doing so it proved itself to be a fantastic thrill ride that's super entertaining to return to.

A fun, momentary fire-and-forget scramble that fires off them entertainment synapses *just so*. Provides that gentle catharsis whenever watching a corporate hive devour itself, amped up a tad with the context of pandemic viewing.

ACTIONx52(023) (https://letterboxd.com/allbeef/list/actionx52023/) #40 of 52 | Watch an action film with a “Survival of the Fittest” storyline. Jeez, and I thought MY workplace was hostile… This is far from being a masterpiece, but I had a good time. Watching people (especially Yeun and Weaving) beat the shit out of others was a blast. The action scenes are not groundbreaking by any means, and the dialogue is incredibly corny. But, like I said, I had fun while watching it. Just sit back, relax, and let the Mayhem ensue.
