Bumblebee is a more grounded and heartfelt entry in the Transformers series, with a likable lead and a simpler story. The action is solid, but the pacing drags at times, and it doesn't do anything particularly new. Overall, Bumblebee is a decent, more character-focused take on the franchise—enjoyable, but not amazing.

71/100 The film is very tightly knit and the writing is at times quite childish. But the film is very nice. It’s really hard to get the child meets robot or alien formula wrong. It always makes for a heart touching story and with Bee, we already have so many fans from before so it’s easy to like this film. It’s niche, grounded, for family and fun for what it is. Hailee Steinfeld is really good in this.

By no means a perfect film, and I’m certainly viewing it through a nostalgia lens, but I had a ton of fun with this. It was really cool to see the TRANSFORMERS that I grew up with instead of the “Bayformers.” This plays out a lot more like a small arc of the cartoon, both to its benefit, and detriment. Steinfeld is, unsurprisingly, very good. But Adlon and Schneider work great together. Definitely the high point of the TRANSFORMERS film franchise. Asher’s Review: I would say that it’s a pretty good movie. I liked the way, where we see him transform in the first transformation, with seeing all the parts snap together. And I’d say it’s a pretty good movie. It’s not a 10 because of the villains. I like when the villains are #relatable, but there’s no way that these two nerds are #relatable. 9/10⭐️

¿Hailee Steinfeld usando blusas de bandas de rock en los 80? Para llevar porfa. Ya hablando en serio… una película que sirve por sus clichés. Relación tipo E.T.-Elliott entre Bumblebee y Charlie que funciona bastante bien la verdad. Buena onda Memo. Parte de mi crecimiento como futuro cineasta ha sido darme cuenta que incluir canciones extradiegéticas, por muy buenas que sean, normalmente es señal de poca creatividad. The Power of Love es la excepción, claro. Pero aquí hubo un lapso de como diez minutos donde era rola tras rola tras rola. Se sintió raro. En conclusión, una película de Transformers que, contra todo pronóstico, logra tener corazón.
