As a tight love letter to Creature from the Black Lagoon, this works in enough ways I can't help but lean to liking it: some good bloody kills, a cute suit they don't shy away from (even teasing it within the first 15mins!), showing they trust the leads (or at least the audience) by getting rid of the uneasy-alliance tension very quick/well before the second half starts, and a sweet ending
