Uranus

“She wore blue velvet…bluer than velvet was the night.” Weirdly enough, these shorts (Uranus, Pluto, Neptune)actually add context—or perhaps a better word would be “understanding”, to Nolasco’s feature length film Dry Wind (https://boxd.it/3mYJWr), which I enjoyed, but thought was thin on plot despite how engaging and sensual it was. Nolasco seems to be doing his best to honor the underground queer creatives that came before him and who really established a lot of the imagery we still see to this day within the gay bdsm/leather scene (Tom of Finland, Fassbinder, Anger, etc.) And with that knowledge in mind, perhaps a revisit to that film this month wouldn’t go amiss. I think I would be able to appreciate it much more. URANUS is good though, sensual and fun and with god tier needle drops. Should have hit the blunt before watching, honestly.
