The Party
“I'm proud of you, even though I think democracy's finished” Cillian Murphy does coke in a bathroom to try keeping calm as a collection of gays and straights discover all their lies to each other come public in one hectic, dramatic, 70 minute night. For those of you who can either hear that sentence or see it play out and not be fully in love: I'm truly sorry. I never will understand

79/100 Marianna you bitch. What a film. I love conversationalist films like these with a group of great actors in one room just exploring situations and relationships within a span of hours. This movie is so short but so good. Surely this must’ve taken like a day to film because all actors are exceptional. Came from the Cillian meme, stayed for the comedy and twist at the end. Also, Tammy 1 is Tammy 1 everywhere. And Kristin Scott Thomas is so so so beautiful.

❝Oh, here we go: you fucking English intellectuals! You think you're so superior, huh: even you need money, Bill! Money bought the house, not fucking ideas!❞ 𐄁─────⋆⁺‧₊☽ ◯ ☾₊‧⁺⋆─────𐄁 I started watching The Party for Cillian, but I ended up really enjoying it. The cast do an incredible job, because it's so easy to hate almost all of their characters; I especially couldn't stand the cynical and really quite bitchy April (played by Patricia Clarkson). There were so many plot twists and the dialogue was uplifted by some great black comedy. And it's a good thing that the run-time was relatively short, because it allowed for the story to be snappy and sharp rather than being spread thinly for two hours; all in all, a pretty great film.

La fiesta es la carta de amor de Sally Potter al cine Clásico con formulas narrativas dignas de Hitchcock ,Esta comedia dramática logra ser una pieza sencilla y pulida para una ejecución eficaz.
