This movie was so good that I didn’t want to leave in the middle to go to the bathroom, so I just shit my pants instead. Totally worth it for this masterpiece.

I feel like I’ll like this more upon rewatch, but on first viewing while smart and competent, it felt underwhelming. For everyone who wanted to see a real detective Batman film, well, this is probably as close as you’re gonna get. Which is unfortunate because the detectiving isn’t great. Some of it works, most of it is just reminiscent of SEVEN and ZODIAC, two films that clearlyinfluenced this one. Is there anything truly bad here? No, not at all. There’s lots of good, but it never quite becomes more than the sum of it’s parts. There are lots of threads left open to create not just a sequel, but a vast universe of interconnected properties. Which is not to say the film feels unfinished, it just feels like maybe we could’ve held off on some of these threads and tightened up the film and story we’ve got here. Giacchino’s score is maybe the best thing about the film, marrying the styles of Elfman, Zimmer, and Beltrami to create something moody and atmospheric. ALL HAIL MATT REEVES! ALL HAIL MICHAEL GIACCHINO! The Batman is unlike any other Caped Crusader stories or even superhero stories you’ve ever watched. Heck, this is actually more about a broken detective who solves a crime that was done by an ordinary villain. R-Batz kicks ass!

De verdad que qué obra maestra de soundtrack, me atrevería a decir que es lo mejor de la película.

Ya tuve dos días para pensar en mi crítica y estas son mis conclusiones: - Salí muy contento de la película, valió la pena la espera y genuinamente me disfruté la experiencia en el cine con mi mejor amigo. - Técnicamente es genial, en especial el diseño sonoro. La música original me pareció increíble y la comenté como tres veces. - Tiene muy buen ritmo para ser casi de tres horas, hubo varios lapsos de diez minutos donde sentía que no parpadeaba. Bien inmersiva y cautivadora. - Me gustó bastante la propuesta de personaje de Batman. Al igual que el de Nolan, es un Bruce que prefiere esconderse con el traje. Y en esta película se cuestiona por qué lucha, con quiénes y contra quién. También me gustó mucho Gordon, pensé que la iban a cagar pero para nada. Aunque me encantaría ver más, tengo miedo de una secuela por la presión que traería del estudio para expandir el universo. Además de que la aparición del Joker me pareció meh. Creo que existe una posibilidad de seguir explorando otros villanos que no han sido explorados todavía.
