Antiporno
A film where I think that the stories about the development and production of the movie are more interesting than the film itself. Or at least, the knowledge of it being a response and commentary on the Japanese Pink Film industry while being produced to revive the industry gives more credence to what it is trying to portray. It's not terrible on its own legs. The actresses are phenomenal in the roles. It has that Sion Sono signature surrealism that, if you like, will keep you engaged throughout the relatively short runtime. Probably, to me at least, his least interesting movie yet. Or maybe his least personal? Nevertheless unique in its own right.

the feelings I went thru, in order: 1) “what the fuck” 2) “oh this is genius” 3) “hahaha what the fuck” Nicely stylized, and fascinating to sit through, this is definitely a movie

I'd honestly love to spend a day with Sion Sono to truly figure out what goes on in his head. Antiporno came highly recommended to me from several friends, and I can see why. It's a visceral experience, getting to see modern feminism in a softcore pornographic film, which ends up being more entertaining than you'd think. Naturally, the film is full of wild colors and characters, which I have learned are the normal for a Sono film. It's equally as wild as Tag, but delves to deeper concepts, which makes for a fun watch, as well as challenging. If I could describe this film in one word, it certainly would be "cut!", and the rest is history.

La irreverente y reflexiva anti porno plasma de forma directa el sentir de las mujeres en japon frente al patriarcado y la forma en la que la sociedad las muestra así mismas en una sofocante “libertad”. La critica de Sion Sono al mismo genero que utiliza para sacudirlo es increíble, esta es la cúspide más artística del Roman porno en esta celebración de Nikkatsu.
