I read reviews of A Dark Song before watching it, hoping that it was going to be a good movie. This is just like everyone else has stated; it's a horror film, but not a typical horror film, as it really is based around imagination and slowly makes its way through the film. I tend to love these types of horror films, but it just didn't seem to work in the way I was hoping for this film. Maybe it's because I wasn't fully paying attention to the film, but I just couldn't seem to stay focused on the film, even when I was trying to sit and enjoy watching it. I will have to revisit this film very soon, since the end of the film really piqued my interest, but it was getting to that point that was the trek to get through. It's a very well done horror film that probably is much better than I think it is, it'll just take a proper viewing to see the brilliance in it.

A compelling and well told story. It lost me with some of its flourishes at the end, but thankfully the emotional core of the movies remains strong throughout. Great performances, beautifully shot.
