Detroit

Detroit is one of the most unnerving films of the year, as it mirrors many instances that we are seeing today. Detroit is a difficult film to watch, knowing that this situation did happen, even if the film dramatized certain aspects since we don't truly know what occurred that night. But the depiction here is utterly horrifying, showing the most evil of mankind. Katheryn Bigelow does a fantastic job at keeping the scope of the film sharp, and the actors keep the story alive. Detroit is a truly horrifying film, but an important film nonetheless, especially in the climate that we live in today.
