The Straight Story
so special to have a movie that's so david lynch in its technical aspects but for such a heartwarming story.
The Straight Story
So... Lynch & Disney. This film is really charming, emotional and (depending on the end), really haunting, this film finds his director in a simple but gifted and lovely mood.
The Straight Story
There's no one knows your life better than a brother that's near your age. He knows who you are and what you are better than anyone on earth. My brother and I said some unforgivable things the last time we met, but, I'm trying to put that behind me... and this trip is a hard swallow of my pride. I just hope I'm not too late... a brother's a brother. Rest in peace, master. You'll always remembered and your legacy will be alive for the present and next generations of cinephiles and filmakers until the end of times.
The Straight Story
The Straight Story is quiet, sincere, and deeply human, told with a lot of warmth and patience. The slow pacing fits the journey and lets the emotions breathe without feeling forced. Overall, The Straight Story is a simple but very touching film that leaves a lasting impression.

DIRECTORS SUITE: DAVID LYNCH | Surrealist Bliss and Idiosyncrasy (https://boxd.it/15hMG) A breath of country road air ignites a sense of nostalgia for The Straight Story's protagonist, hauling in clouds of remembrance and the pains of aging, and with each step closer to his destination does he feel anymore older than before. There is no question that The Straight Story is David Lynch's most subdued and straightforward work in film. Ironically, its the straightest story he's approached; empty of complex weirdness and peculiar characters, and instead pulsating with subtle craft and an attention to exploring a knowingly leisure and true tale of an elderly man's road-trip. It's aftermath is poignant, and without trying too much, David Lynch constructs a seemingly enormous film out of a small one. 3.9/5

A man seeks resolution, not to heal himself, but to see the stars above him by the one person he wants to see, his brother. The most gentle of Lynch films. You see his usual flairs and oddities in images and shot progressions, but here theyโre subdued, as if approached from afar, like seeing a glimmer of sunlight from high above, to be appreciate, truly, the small things in life. Coming to this after his passing Is such a gift. Life is so beautiful. He was right about people and parties and big love. It exists. It really does. Itโs in the hurt of the land and the heart of the people.
