I liked the scenes with the gym people

With a film like Demons, it's hard to imagine that the sequel would be as good as the first film. While it may not be as good as the first film, it still is just as entertaining. There were many points throughout the film that had the hallmark signature of the first film, with some extremely awkward dialogue and some cringy effects. These didn't seem to work as well in this film, since they had already been done in the first film. But, Demons 2 still does have it's moments where it had the potential to be just as good as the first one. These glimpses made the film really fun to watch. While it may not be as good as the first film, Demons 2 still remains to be an extremely entertaining film that feels right at home with Bava's other films, as well as Argento's work.

While the practical effects are impressive, I wish the storyline was as good as its predecessor’s.

Hooptober 7 Film #17 Demons 2 Okay, so I actually think I like this one more than the first. The dog scene is so good!! This movie is even more crazy than the first. The effects are amazingly done and even more gory than before. There’s so much blood! Demons 2 is everything good about the original but done even better and there’s more of it! Usually I’d say less is more in the case of horror movies, but the first movie wasn’t exactly subtle or withholding on showing plenty of monsters and gore. Did I mention how much I love the dog scene? It’s so good! And the scene with the little kid demon and the ACTUAL demon Venus flytrap-lookin ass. The stairwell shots are really cool too. The ending leaves a bit to be desired, but I like the contrast between the apocalyptic ending of the first and the hopeful note this one ends on. I just wish the ending had been a little more epic like the first movie’s ending. Also, character development, good dialogue, and writing - you can forget it. It doesn’t do much else other than having great special effects. It’s just a good “turn your mind off and enjoy the show” type of movie. And boy did I enjoy the show! 7/10
