Diary entries forMurder on the Orient Express
Murder on the Orient Express
“cassetti was a pig. he deserves to die” said to the character that was played by johnny depp and i couldn’t have agreed more. i think this movie shows that in order to eradicate johnny depp from this world we must all band together and create an elaborate plan to kill him. teamwork makes a dream work after all. anyway this movie is so unserious and a little too long im honestly surprised i even finished it lmao. they kinda had me when they revealed that they were all connected to the armstrongs and they all killed cassetti, they’re so real for that. this such a packed cast too, great acting from a lot of them, it’s not too bad ig. love how this was shot though.
Murder on the Orient Express
So much potential, so much wasted. Great acting can’t save this silly plot which just gets too ahead of itself and just becomes a cringe-fest. The ending is bad, poorly executed and feels cheap. Looking forward to the sequel though, as this was still a fun time for the first hour or so.
Murder on the Orient Express
A film where Johnny Depp's killed by 12 people and none of them are really punished for it is a film I can't hate
Murder on the Orient Express
I was in the mood for a whodunnit, and thought I’d give this another chance. It has a great mysetery and plays out well, with a stellar cast to match. I enjoyed this a lot more surprisingly on a rewatch than I did originally in theaters.
Murder on the Orient Express
I love a good Agatha Christie novel. Having read many of them growing up, I am keen to watch a whodunnit, seeing if I can figure out the mystery myself. Murder on the Orient Express is a classic whodunnit, this time just wrapped up with a ton of CGI and a predictable plot that I ended up calling halfway through the film. Films like this don't come out anymore, so it was nice to see something like this grace the screen again, but it was so easy to call and ended up being so predictable, it really didn't have that same whodunnit feel that films like And Then There Were None had. Branagh leads both in the film and behind the camera, which was fine, as the film was beautiful, despite being heavily influenced by CGI. The biggest problem I had with the film was surprisingly the cast, since they were completely underused. This was an A+ cast, with the likes of Michelle Pfeiffer, Judy Dench, Willem Dafoe, Daisy Ridley, and Penelope Cruz. There were these amazing actors, but ultimately, they just either didn't feel developed enough or just didn't have enough screen time (especially Dench, who I was surprised didn't have more screen time). This film easily could have worked with a cast of more less-known actors, rather than using some big name Hollywood actors who don't really get enough screen time for their talent. Murder on the Orient Express is a decent whodunnit that has an amazing cast, but doesn't live up to it's true Agatha Christie potential.
Murder on the Orient Express
*everyone kills Johnny depp* me: it is what he deserves
Murder on the Orient Express
Um esquadrão de assassinos? Até que foi interessante, definitivamente não esperava. Mas a construção do filme em si foi bem… morna. Dos três que vi, acho que o meu preferido foi noite das bruxas.
Murder on the Orient Express
❝I have seen the fracture of the human soul. So many broken lives, so much pain and anger giving way to the poison of deep grief, until one crime became many. I have always wanted to believe that man is rational and civilized. My very existence depends upon this hope, upon order and method and the little grey cells... but now perhaps I am asked... to listen instead... to my heart.❞ • ───── ⋅☾✵☽⋅ ───── • Better than Death on the Nile but still not an amazing film. Acting was good for the most part, and there were some very nice sets, but it was so slow-paced and the ending was predictable. I wish Willem Dafoe had more screen time because he would've made the film so much better.
