On Chesil Beach

I was going to rate this mid to low based on the first two-thirds, but the last third was so emotionally impactful that I had to bump it up. The upbeat music in the beginning and strewn throughout was incredibly out of place and got on my nerves, but the ending music was so, so incredible. Funny how that can happen. Saoirse Ronan continues to amaze. If this came out during awards season, I bet she’d be a serious contender.
