Transmite uma doçura que, inicialmente, parece estar mais associada a familiaridade dos códigos referenciados (o dito clima Spielbergiano das aventuras infanto-juvenis oitentistas), mas logo se revela infinitamente bem composto/decupado/pensado (https://film-grab.com/wp-content/uploads/photo-gallery/thumb/03%20(963).jpg?bwg=1547412051) e genuinamente sensível em comparação a qualquer coisa que Abrams já fez em sua filmografia. Só isso já o torna minimamente interessante.

Like ET meets Stranger Things? This was fun, I really liked the kids and their friendship.

I really enjoyed this one! The kids are all relatable to how my friends and I were when we were younger. There's some great set pieces in this film and great acting. The sountrack is pretty good. All in all, it captures the feel of an 80's film really well! I loved seeing the process of kids making a movie cause that's the kinda shit I would do There were some slight issues. The cgi hasn't aged that well, there's some cliche scenes and the climax feels anti-climatic. None of that ruined the fun though!

unsure why this didn’t get retroactively added to the cloverfield universe. interestingly i think this movie could have been huge if it played into 80s nostalgia more, similarly to IT and stranger things success. unfortunately i kind of kept forgetting it is based in the past cuz it’s shot so obnoxiously with the lens flairs (sorry JJ) that make it feel more like a futuristic sci fi
