An extremely captivating documentary following Anthony Weiner during his mayoral candidacy in New York City. Clouded by his sex scandals, Weiner tries to show that he is still for the people of New York, hoping to get rid of his tarnished image. Throughout the documentary, you can see that he truly is one for the people, but due to social media, he was ridiculed for his private life. It was really interesting to see the filming of this, since it felt more like an episode of Portlandia instead of an actual documentary. I thought this was a really innovative decision, since it actually makes the documentary feel more like real life, instead of something you are merely learning about. I'm really interested to see what else these filmmakers produce, since this has left a lasting impression on me. Hopefully Weiner can recuperate from his third sex scandal and divorce and try to go for a public office again.
