Paterson

So aggressively underwhelming, tried to appreciate the small moments of what felt great, but it’s droplets in a pond of “what”

Paterson

I thought this was a nice movie with really great moments, but overall it didn’t do as much for me as it seemingly does for everyone else, and that’s fine. But great themes, well shot, wonderful performances. Just not something I’ll find myself revisiting.

Paterson

a beautifully observed film, a quiet meditation on the mundane and poetic aspects of everyday life

Paterson

"If you ever left me I'd tear my heart out And never put it back. There'll never be anything like you. How embarrassing." Imagine having a love as great and supportive as theirs. There's also nice juxtaposition. We have Laura, who has big dreams for her many interests and she is set on pursuing the heck out of them. This is in contrast with Paterson who is quiet and content with writing poetry that goes in his 'secret notebook' away from the eyes of the world. Unlike Laura he doesn't necessarily want to be seen or have the fame and glory for his art. The differences don't just end there, they can even be seen in small things like use of technology. They both are so different yet they still work. Paterson, the movie, is much like life, in that, it is slow-paced, routinely and nothing much happens. It is also soft and lovely with funny lines every now and then. Adam Driver gives an amazing performance in this. You can see exactly what his character is thinking just by looking at him. Also, Daniel Day Lewis may be one of the greatest actors in history of cinema but even he has never gone this method - to change his last name for anyone of his roles. Now, I will leave you with this great line - "Excuse me, Aha!"

Paterson

"Sometimes an empty page presents more possibilities". Paterson is a kind of movie that makes me wanna live in it. So calm and peaceful.
